What is Operation 36?

Operation 36 is a learn-to-play golf program for beginning golfers, from juniors to adults. Op36 coaches teach it at their facilities, and the goal is in the name: shoot 36 for nine holes.

Every set is built to order for the golfer who will play it, by hand, in our shop in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It moves through the same eight build stations as every Henry-Griffitts club, from cutting to final check.

Level by level: Level 1 starts with a putter and pitching wedge, and each Op36 level adds one club: a driver at Level 2, then a 7 iron, sand wedge, fairway wood, 9 iron, 8 iron and 6 iron, and a hybrid at Levels 9–10. Buy a set, or add clubs one at a time as the golfer moves up.

Fit by height and swing speed

The fitting uses the golfer’s height and swing speed, with their age, gender and dominant hand. From those we set each club’s length, shaft flex and grip size.

A set for every level

Five sets, from the 2-club Starter Set to the 10-club Complete Set, or the set for the golfer’s Op36 level. You can also build a custom set club by club.

Junior and adult sets

Sets are built for juniors and for adults, right- or left-handed, and every set is built to order.

Add clubs as they move up

As a golfer moves up, add clubs to the set they already have, and upgrade shafts along the way.

    Pick one of the five sets or the set for the golfer’s level, and enter their details with the order. Go to op36shop.com

  3. We build it

    Your order comes to us, and we build the set to the golfer’s numbers, by hand, through our eight build stations.

  4. It ships to you

    Once the set passes final check, we pack it and ship it to you. Orders ship within the United States and Canada.

Who builds Op36 clubs?

Henry-Griffitts. Every set sold on op36shop.com is built to order, by hand, in our shop in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, through the same eight build stations as every H-G club.

What do I need to place an order?

The golfer’s height, age, gender and dominant hand, plus their swing speed if it has been measured.

Is Operation 36 only for kids?

No. Operation 36 is a learn-to-play program for beginners, and Op36 clubs come in junior and adult sets.

Do we have to buy the set for the golfer’s level?

No. Choose any of the five sets, from the 2-club Starter Set to the 10-club Complete Set, or build a custom set club by club.

Are left-handed clubs available?

Yes. The order asks for the golfer’s dominant hand, and every set is built right- or left-handed to match.

What happens when a golfer moves up a level?

Each Op36 level adds one club, so add the new level’s club to the set they already have, and upgrade shafts as they grow.

Is an Op36 set the same as a full H-G fitting?

They’re different. An Op36 set is fit from the golfer’s height, swing speed, age, gender and dominant hand, and built to standard lie unless a fitter specifies otherwise.

A full fitting with a Henry-Griffitts fitter tests every spec (length, lie, loft, face angle, shaft and grip) with the golfer hitting shots, and the ball flight makes the call. When a golfer is ready for that, find an H-G fitter near you.
